Following the run, everybody is then invited to our Barbeque, live music from Tommy Mac in the bar and big screen live sports. This is an inclusive day for all the members, Mammies, Daddies, Kids, and all our community and we look forward to seeing a good crowd on the day.

Match Day Sponsors

We are seeking match day sponsors for our League games this year. Families and friends are more than welcome to become a sponsor. Maybe you would like to join up with other members for a game, if so, contact Karen McKenna on 0879083438 to discuss.

Seniors

The Senior squad travelled to Cremartin, on Saturday, for round three of the Intermediate League. A tough assignment on the back of two defeats, but a bright start gave us hope and as the backline tackled like tigers , we were there abouts come the break as the home side lead by two points. However, as much as we tried, scores became increasingly hard to convert and the home team piled on the pressure as they kept their tally ticking over and not letting go of their advantage. It was a stern physical test with neither team standing back, however, we just hadn’t the scores on the board as the referee called time. The step up from Junior is becoming an on going lesson as we slowly acclimatise ourselves to these situations. Friday night will see Monaghan Harps come to Pairc Sheain Mhic Dhiarmada for round four, and another uncompromising encounter lies in store.

U17’s

The 17’s played their first home game of the league against Eire Og on Tuesday last. We began with a flurry of scores and the result was never in doubt while building a commanding lead. The visitors fought hard but we stemmed the tide, and seen out the victory comfortably. Inniskeen is next to visit and will provide much different opposition.

U15’s

League fixtures were on hold this week, as the squad took part in the Feile playoffs in Cloghan last Thursday. An intense blitz over two and half hours seen the lads make history for the Club as they won the right to play in the Regional finals on June 4th. On the night they, won two and lost two, but that was enough to secure their place at the Regional playoffs. It was a full team effort, as the energy sapping games, required the involvement of all the squad. They beat Rockcorry and ran Corduff and Clontibret to a couple of scores each. This is a very notable achievement for the effort and work that they and their Management have been putting in. Good luck on June 4th.

U11’s

A totally enthralling game on Monday night last as we hosted Currin in the Spring League. In front of an excited crowd, these mighty minnows provided superb entertainment in this end to end battle. Skills and determination were in abundance as the Seans played their hearts out. Well done to all.

St Marys NS Fundraiser

The pupils of the school will be taking on a Marathon Relay on Friday the 27th of May. They will run a distance of a marathon, 42195 meters, in relay format. The event will start at 10am in Pairc Sheain Mhic Diarmada. This is being organised by the Parents Association as a fundraising event for the school and all sponsorship would be greatly appreciated. All past pupils and family members are more than welcome to take part. To donate go on line to https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/.../st-marys-marathon-relay.
