Bingo at theSeans

Well done to all our winners on Monday night as we gave away nearly €5000 in prizes , with one lucky player scooping one of the €1000 jackpots.

Next week is another Bank Holiday Bonanza of giveaways. As the main jackpot was not won it now moves on to €11200 and all other jackpot pages remain the same BUT as it’s a bank holiday we guarantee at least two of the €1000 jackpots will be paid out on the night.

Make sure you get in early and get your books. If you have any queries, please message us on Facebook, email, etc, and we will assist in every way possible.

Lighting our Future

The fundraisers are now on the road so all members can expect a friendly visit from our canvassing teams in the coming weeks. We are asking the members and friends to contribute €240 towards the future development within the club. In return for the donation , your name will be inscribed on a new granite plaque which will be located in a prominent position at the Complex building. This will be in full view for all to see on arrival to the club and for future generations. The payment can be paid upfront or split payments over 12 months. We now have a link on our Clubzap App which allows you to go online for this. However, we will have members calling and our brochure has a QR code which can be scanned for payment. We are also offering some terrific contributor prizes on the day the plague is unveiled. These will include , Two All Ireland Hurling and Football tickets with overnight stays in Dublin and an Indulgent Spa getaway among other prizes. Please take time to review the information when we call and appreciate the work that has been done and the work that is planned and support your Club.

Healthy Hearts

The Club has organised the Health Hearts Team to visit on Saturday the 18th May from 9am to 2.30pm. with appointments every 15 mins. This is open to anyone of an age of 14 and over , players and non-players. The cost is €50, and we are advising booking an appointment at 0863751459. This a massive step by the Club in the area of health and welfare of players and members in the screening for SADS. Cardiac screening for SADS (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome) in sports people can help identify any potential heart abnormalities that may increase the risk of sudden cardiac arrest during physical activity.

Junior Football League

Killeevan were our visitors for Round 2 of the Junior League on Saturday evening. In a typical derby game, it was full of tight marking, non stop action, the odd shamuzzle and a glittering array of coloured cards. The first half was close all the way to the break as points were exchanged on limited chances. There was barely a score between both teams as we resumed service in the third quarter. As the legs tired, there were more openings and both goal mouths were threatened but no rewards. We would have to settle for points, and they came in the last fifteen minutes as we slowly nosed in front. On the final whistle we had notched up 11 points to Kileevans 7, one red card but a full compliment of players. Job done and we now travel to Oram on Saturday evening for round 3. We would like to wish Marty McGuirk a speedy recovery as he was whisked away to hospital during the game.

Senior Ladies League

Another early Sunday morning for our seniors , as they were away to Truagh. However early start or not, it didn’t deter them as they were dominant for long periods of this game. That said the home team never gave up and managed to push in front in the final minutes. This prompted an all out attack to finish and we salvaged a draw with a last ditch point. A share of the spoils in the end and happy to do so.

Minors

Our minors were back at home on Tuesday last with Tyholland the visitors. This was a tough encounter with goals and points a plenty. While we capitalised well with quality scores, the opposition were in no form of giving in too early. Plenty of fine points converted by both teams in the course of the game but we pushed on well in the final quarter and closed out a decent victory. Next up is an away game to Latton.

U16’s

Well done to our U16 lads who secured a great win over Ballybay last Thursday. In strong confident display, the lads had stars all over the field and it all came together with excellent score taking and tough tackling in defence.

U14’s

The lads had a difficult assignment on Saturday, away to table toppers Killeevan. That said, they gave a worthy account of themselves, and only fell short by a couple of scores. A much improved team and hopefully they will get their rewards soon.

 U14 Ladies

A superb, rip roaring tie on Monday night as the girls welcomed Maghercloone in the Division one clash. A mix of top class defending and score conversions gave the Seans a worthy two point win. Well done all.
